Christos Zachos was born in Corfu in 1980. He has studied percussion and trumpet as well as greek tradional music and instruments. He studied instrumental and electroacoustic composition with J. Papadatos, D. Maragopoulos, A. Mniestris at the Music Department of the Ionian University and completed his Master studies in electroacoustic composition at the same institution. He has attended seminars and workshops in diffusion with J. Harrison, in live performance and electronic music with A. Bentley, in electroacoustic composition with D. Smalley and S. Emmerson and in the sound design environment 'KYMA' with C. Scaletti. He has also attended workshops about interaction interfaces and audiovisual production that took place in IRCAM in 2007. He has composed music for instrumental ensembles, electroacoustic music as well as music for dance and has played in several free improvisation concerts as a percussionist. His music has been performed in Greece and Italy and has received the 2nd prize in the composition competition organized in 2004 by the Greek college IEK Omiros (“The companions of me”), and the 1st prize in the composition competition organized in 2005 by the Greek college IEK Domi (“Study for Tzouras”).
