Katerina Tzedaki (b. 1964 in Rethimno, Crete, Greece)
Between 1984-1993 she studied in Athens, music, electroacoustic music and
computer music with I. Ioannides, Stefanos Vasilleiades, Dimitris Kamarotos
and Thanassis Rikakis. At 1993 she moved in Thessaloniki as coordinator of
the Computer Music Lab of the Program of Psychoacoustics of the Aristotle
University of Thessaloniki (IPSA). She lived in Thessaloniki until 2000,
composing music, teaching in the annual computer music composition seminars
organized by IPSA, while she participated in the research projects of
“Interactive sonic and movement environments”, “Physical Modeling of
Ancient Greek Musical Instruments” and “Music Perception in patients with
Dementia due to Altheimer’s disease”.
In 2001 she moved in London where she completed her MA degree in music
composition (electroacoustic) at City University (2002).
She is currently living in Greece (Rethimno, Crete) teaching in the
Department of Music Technology and Acoustics of the Technological
Educational Institute of Crete while at the same time she is a research
student in electroacoustic music composition at the De Montfort University,
Leicester under the supervision of Simon Emmerson.
She is interested in soundscape composition, live electroacoustic music and
spirituality. Her music has been performed in various places at different
times. She is a member of SAN, of ICMA and of the Hellenic Association of
Electroacoustic Music Composers.
